Stef Aerts and Tom Vermeir to be the lead actors of 'Belgica'

The Ghent based actor Tom Vermeir and Stef Aerts will be the two lead actors of Felix' new film 'Belgica', which begins shooting in early December. Belgica tells the story of two brothers who run a pub together but the better their business goes, the more they lose each other.

The role of Frank, the elder brother, will be played by Tom Vermeir. It was already known that Stef Aerts will take on the role of his younger brother Jo. Felix is thrilled to have Tom on board: "'Tom is a super talent. I was blown away by his performances in Arne Sierens stage plays. He's just made ​​for the role of Frank," says a happy Felix.

Vermeir is best known as the singer/guitar player of the rock band A Brand, which he founded ten years ago together with Day Taeldeman and Frederik Heuvinck. Their biggest radio hits include "Hammerhead", "Time", "Beauty booty killer queen" and "Mad Love Sweet Love." The group played at Werchter, Pukkelpop, Les Eurockeènes (France) and South by Southwest (USA).

As an actor Vermeir, who is a graduate from the Conservatory in Gent, has especially experience on the theater stage. With Koen De Ruyck, Wouter Bruneel and Craig Weston he was part of the group "Curtains for rabbits." For "Chicken" he did the show "tried and tested" and he also regularly collaborator of Arne Sierens and Compagnie Cecilia. Belgica is, after with 'Friends Like These', the second collaboration between Sierens and van Groeningen.
